DUCT HEATER

Duct Heater

Tubular elements in a flanged frame, mounted directly into your duct — the whole air stream passes through the heated bank.

Duct Heater 3D assembly preview

OVERVIEW

What it is

An electric duct heater heats process air directly: straight or finned tubular elements are mounted in a flanged frame that bolts between two duct sections. Finned elements enlarge the heat-transfer surface, so a compact bank can carry high power at moderate air velocity.

Staging or stepless SCR control keeps the outlet temperature stable while the fan ramps up and down. Interlocks with fan status and a downstream over-temperature thermostat protect the heater when airflow is lost.

APPLICATIONS

Where it works

01

Drying ovens & dryers

Hot air supply and recirculation for batch and continuous dryers.

02

Waste gas treatment

Pre-heating exhaust streams before SCR / RTO / biofilter stages.

03

Air handling & paint booths

Make-up air and recirculation air heating with stable outlet temperature.

04

Process air and ventilation

Duct-mounted heater banks for make-up air, winterisation and controlled industrial ventilation.

SELECTION INPUT

What we need from you

Five inputs are usually enough for a preliminary selection and power estimate. You do not need a complete data sheet to start the conversation.
01

Air volume (m³/h) and duct cross-section

02

Inlet and required outlet temperature

03

Available pressure budget — finned banks add resistance

04

Fan interlock and safety thermostat requirements

05

Hazardous area or dust atmosphere, if any

FAQ

Common questions

Q

What happens if the fan stops?

Airflow must be proven before power is enabled. We supply fan-differential-pressure interlocks and a redundant over-temperature limiter as the standard safety chain.

Q

How clean is the air allowed to be?

Finned elements need reasonably clean air. For dust-laden exhaust we widen spacing, use straight tubes and recommend filtration upstream.

Q

Can one heater serve two temperature zones?

Yes — element banks can be segmented and controlled independently in one flanged frame.

Q

How is heater power controlled?

Power can be divided into stages or controlled continuously with an SSR or SCR, matched to airflow and the required outlet temperature.
